About the Doctor
Martin B Schapiro, DDS
Dr. Schapiro has provided general dental care to Westchester area residents since 1979. He earned his undergraduate degree at the University of Pennsylvania and his dental degree at New York University College of Dentistry. A post-graduate residency at Lutheran Medical Center allowed him to develop greater expertise in all phases of dental treatment. He subsequently acted as an attending doctor for new incoming residents at the Hospital. Dr. Schapiro entered private practice working with his father (also a general dentist) from 1979-1986.
Continually attending continuing education courses enables Dr. Schapiro to stay at the forefront of his field so that he can provide optimal care to his patients. This allows Dr. Schapiro to offer his patients the finest (cosmetic, periodontal, surgical, orthodontic, and restorative) dental care. He regularly attends courses focusing on diagnosis, restorative, periodontal, oral surgery, implants, orthodontics, and occlusion so that the most current treatment options are available to his patients.
Dr. Schapiro is a member of the American Dental Association and a Felow of the Academy of General Dentistry (awarded in 1982). He is also a member and active participant of the Ninth District Dental Society, The Scarsdale Dental Society, The Northeastern Gnathological Society, the Yonkers Dental Society, The Advanced Endodontic Study Club of Westchester and The NY Occlusal Study Group. Dr. Schapiro has completed the core curriculum at the Dawson Center for Advanced Dental Studies in St. Petersberg, Florida.
Dr. Schapiro resides in Pleasantville with his wife Anna Weber. His interests and passions besides his family and dentistry include photography, world travel, hiking and basketball. He has two beautiful, high energy daughters, Hannah and Rachel ages seven and five. At the present time he is doing alot more chasing than pacing.
